Here is a painting that bears a very real connection to the works of Angelica Kauffmann. It is in an unrestored condition to allow for the research to find the origin of this painting. Please see photos of the rear of the canvas with writing which almost certainly is from the period of the painting  but which I have not been able to identify. The rear of the canvas and frame has not been cleaned. The style of the frame also bears a strong resemblance to other works by Angelica Kauffman and is typical pf a frame dating from the 1770 -1790's - 18th Century.

Angelica Kauffmann RA was born in Chur, Switzerland in 1741. She is one of the foremost female painter of the 18th Century. Her main subject matter was classical historical scenes in the Romantic style as can be seen in this painting. Angelica Kauffmann became an important artist in both London with the Royal Academy and Rome. Her full name is Maria Anna Angelika Kauffmann

Today her works are on display at some of the most important Galleries and Museums of the world including the British Museum, The Tate Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, MET - New York, and the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam),

We are, until it can be verified, attributing this to the School of Angelica Kauffmann

The painting is in good condition but would be improved by a clean
