A really superb, authentic and increasingly rare early 18th century fruitwood and faux red tortoiseshell veneered "Crucifix of Corpus Christi" on an ebonised architectural base typical of the period.
A wonderful rendition of Christ is shown on the cross carved in exquisite detail. These were originally pieces made for the church or small home chapels. This crucifix is an incredible survival of a 300 years old relatively delicate piece.
