An exceptional George I burr walnut chest-on-chest of the very finest quality. The upper section with moulded cornice and finely inlaid decoration to both the sides and drawer fronts. The top section consists of a row of two short drawers above three long drawers. The lower section, which features a secretaire section, is complete with a leathered inlaid writing fall front. Inside are small drawers with ivory handles and pigeon holes. The rest of the lower section, has a further three long drawers, the lowest of which fitted with a wonderful inlaid concave sunburst decoration. Standing on bracket feet, retaining its original brass pull handles, back-plates and escutcheons.
The whole piece is a magnificent colour.
