Wonderful early Chinese "Rose Medallion" porcelain large plate. The plate is decorated with vibrant and highly detailed enamel and gilt decoration. This type of “Famille Rose” vase was made in the Canton region mainly for Europe or the USA, classed as Export ware. It is a very fine example of Rose Medallion enamelled and gilded wares, with the base indicating it is an earlier example dating from around the 1820s, most probably made during the Reign of the Emperor Daoguang (1820-1850). This type of decoration is also often referred to as "Canton" ware. The plate features exquisite decoration around the borders, featuring birds, plants, flowers, and butterflies. The panels alternate, showing finely painted palace scenes or panels of birds, flowers, and fruits. Dimensions: 25cm diameter (almost 10 inches).
