Rare and Superb 18th Century Delft Pair of Baluster Vases in the Chinese Transitional Period style in imitation of the Chinese Imported vases of the same period most probably made in the Netherlands. These vases are incredibly decorative and of good size with a lovely free interpretation design and quality of painting.

This is a great example of an increasingly rare to find pair of vases of this form in 18th Century Delft pottery and in very good condition with minimal wear.

The tin glaze wares were made to copy the Oriental Porcelain from China and Japan which were far beyond the pocket of most at that time. Far more fragile than the Oriental porcelain dishes sadly pieces of this period are increasingly hard to find.

Condition is very good for Delft of this age. Some loss of glaze to the edging which is common on early delft.
