Beautiful and Rare Hand knotted Antique Pao-Tao Chinese rug from the Baotou-Suiyuan area- Northern Chinese Inner Mongolian region. Probably (by provenance) late 19th Century so quite an early rug. The carpet depicts scenes in a scroll format of the Crane and Buddhist symbols around the border.
A really rare and unusual and fine collectors rug.

The rug has been cleaned but not yet restored (price takes account of the restoration needed)
Condition: “Some wear and loss of threads at each end and side areas. Some loss of pile but could be restored back to its original splendour without too much effort
