Beautiful Oil on Oak Panel painting by James Ward RA (1769 -1859). Painting is signed with his Monogram and dated 1805.
James Ward was one of the leading English landscape and animal painters of the early 19th Century. He was influenced in his style by his equally famous Brother in Law George Morland (1763-1804). He became a member of the Royal Academy in 1807 and his works can be found in major Museums around the world including the Tate Gallery, London, National galleries of England and Scotland and Yale Gallery USA.
