Wonderful design in underglaze Cobalt Blue of  a garden scene of a pair of courting birds in a large Peony tree done with superb quality artistry.  Produced in the Arita Kilns. The subject is handled with great sensibility of form and structure and shows the very best of Japanese Porcelain design and craftmanship.

This is a wonderful example of Meiji porcelain in exceptional condition. The base shows the Classic kiln stilt marks found on pieces of this period
