Superb quality Chinese Export wood, lacquer and gilt wall shelves from the 19th century. These export wares were made to display fine Chinese quality porcelain, glass and other smaller items. These are also known as scroll form shelves. The reason being, the form of the shelves was made to resemble traditional chinese paper or textile hanging scrolls.
The shelves are decorated with traditional chinese motifs. On the left hand shelf unit you have a pair of birds in a pine tree with a rock garden and peony flowers below. On the right hand darker shelf unit there are three song birds perched in a Peony bush. All the decoration is done in fine Gold gilding with some enamel colour accents. The designs are made in an almost 3 dimensional form with texture used to give the design more emphasis and extremely well done.
The shelves do fold back which was done for ease of storage and packing.

Shipping prices to all locations will be automatically shown when purchasing an item. These prices are for registered shipping. Collection is also possible. Please make sure you tick the correct box when buying any item to avoid transport charges if you intend to collect or send your own transport company
For International buyers they do not include any local taxes or customs duties, if applicable. That will be given as a separate invoice by your customs authorities directly to you.
Items will be very carefully packed and larger items will be crated
RETURN & REFUND POLICY
For UK customers returns are accepted up to 14 days after receipt. The buyer is responsible for all shipping and insurance charges back to our warehouse. Refunds will be paid once the goods are checked for condition on return. Return goods may be subject for a restocking charge of 10% chargeable to the buyer
In all other case returns are not accepted except in the case of items not being as described in the listings. Buyer must inform us that the goods are not as listed within a maximum of 5 working days from receipt along with any photographic evidence to support the claim. Buyer is still responsible for return charges and shipping, but these will be refunded (shipping costs must be agreed by us prior to sending).
