Pair of magnificent late Edo period large Arita dragon vases of  bottle form with stopper lids. The vases are beautifully decorated with intertwined mythical dragons wrapped around the vases amongst flowers and motifs and are signed Hichozan Shinpo. 

Hichozan Shinpo was studio that painted products of the Mikawachi kilns in their distinctive style. This red based ground with seaweed motif decoration mainly belongs to the late Edo period  around 1860. The studio also produced Fukagawa and  Hirado wares.
