Circa 1760. A mid-eighteenth century rare green japanned lacquer long cased clock, the case decorated with figures within a naturalistic setting surrounded by pagodas, birds, butterflies and swans The arched hood with a single bronze spherical finial. The case is constructed of oak. The clock is signed Thomas Stokes of London with the clock striking on the hour with additional second hand and date window.

Green cased clocks were not nearly as common as the other colour variants. This is a fine clock of high quality
